Grade Passback Setting Guide with Custom parameter and Deeplink URL

Grade Passback with Custom Parameters
- Login with Admin role.
- Go to the > Settings from Admin account and then go to the >Developer key and click on edit the tool.
- Under the additional setting, the below parameters are required to be set.
- A canvas default parameter - canvas_user_id=${Canvas.user.id} - Copt this parameter and paste it in the custom fields under additional settings.
Admin OR Teacher can copy custom parameters from the screen below.
Navigate to Assessment > Standard Test > View Test page of the particular assessment > Copy the custom parameter of the particular assessment
- A canvas default parameter - canvas_user_id=${Canvas.user.id} - Copt this parameter and paste it in the custom fields under additional settings.
d. MagicBox passes the Grade Passback to the particular assessment only.
e. For this, we need to set a custom parameter under an additional setting in Custom Fields as
3. The above points parameter must be set in the additional settings of grade Passback. Follow the steps of the screenshot.
Go to the > Settings from Admin account and then go to the >Developer key and click on edit the tool.

4. If any assignment is associated with this developer key, then that assignment is automatically launched in this assessment in the Magicbox portal.
5. After the launch, the teacher should assign this assessment to the class or any particular user. After that, students will be able to access the assessment.
6. The student can launch the assignment from the canvas. They will also be able to directly launch the assessment for which the custom parameter was set.
7. Once the students submit their assessments, the scores will automatically be sent back to Canvas through MagicBox and the scores will be displayed in the grade book section as per the below screenshot.
8. The teacher will be able to see the scores in the Grades section under that particular course as shown in the below screenshot
Grade Passback with Deeplink URL
- Login with Admin role.
- Go to the > Settings from Admin account and then go to the >Developer key and click on edit the tool.
- Under the additional setting, the below parameters are required to be set.
- A canvas default parameter - canvas_user_id=${Canvas.user.id} - Copt this parameter and paste it in the custom fields under additional settings.
Admin OR Teacher can copy the Deep Link URL from the screen below.
Navigate to Assessment > Standard Test > View Test page of the particular assessment > Copy the deep link URL of the particular assessment
The copied deep link URL must be set in Assignment which we will launch
Login from admin > Navigate to the particular course > Navigate to assignment > Click on edit on the particular assignment as shown in the below screenshot
Now under the edit assignment screen > Navigate to Submission Type > Click on Find external tool > Select the tool that you want to launch > Now paste the Deep Link URL in the URL input box and click on select to update the changes.
Now click on the "Save" button on the edit assignment page to save the updated changes.
If any assignment is associated with this developer key, then that assignment is automatically launched in this assessment in the Magicbox portal.
5. After the launch, the teacher should assign this assessment to the class or any particular user. After that, students will be able to access the assessment.
