Create "Drawing" question type

Publishers, school/district admins, and teachers can create different types of questions on the platform. 

Drawing question type would allow the student to use various drawing tools like shapes, freehand drawing, eraser, etc. in their responses to the question. Students can add images to the solution and then can perform various drawing operations on the image. In addition to standard shapes and freehand drawing, some questions require users to use specific colors, therefore they can also change the color (both line and fill) of shapes and lines. These questions are added to the “Questions” page and can be used while creating a standard test.

Follow the below steps to create a drawing question type-

1. Log in to the Portal.

2. Click “Assessment” on the left-hand side menu.

3. Click “Questions” in the sub-menu. 

You will be redirected to the “Questions” page. Here you can view the list of questions that are already created. 

4. Click “New Question” to add a new question.


5. Click on the “Drawing” type question from the Question Type menu.

  You will be redirected to the “Drawing question” page.          

6. Enter the question text in the space provided using the Wysiwyg editor.

7. You can insert the Image, URL, Audio, and Table in the Drawing Questions while authoring. 


8. Click on the tick icon to save the question. 

 

10. The drawing question can be added to the standard test and published as a test. 

Drawing Question Rendering on Assessment Player- 

  • The students will see an artboard area with a drawing tool panel on the right-hand side. 
  • If there is no author uploaded image in the artboard, then the student will be able to add the image by clicking on the "Add image" button and can use the drawing tools on the uploaded image to respond to the questions

Student will be able to perform the following actions from the drawing tool - 

  1. Shapes- Draw Circle, square, triangle. By default, fill color will be white and outline color will be black. Student can change the fill color and outline color of the shapes.
  2. Line- Draw a Straight line, Arrow line. By default, color will be black for both line and arrow. Student can select any other outline color and draw the straight and arrow line in different colors
  3. Text- Add text on the image in artboard and change text color. 
  4. Drawing- Student can use free hand drawing to draw on the artboard as well as on the images in artboard. Eraser can be used to delete the free hand drawing. 
  5. Line - Refers to outline color. 
  6. Fill - Refers to fill color.
  • By default will show standard color pallet. Students can switch between standard colors and more color options available in RGB, HEX values.
