Class Enrollment Token for School Student

The Class Enrollment token feature is useful to invite the students to join the specific class. This feature is an extension to the existing Access code license workflow where the individual teacher can generate the class token and share it with the individual students, individual users (click here for details). Similarly, a school teacher can also generate the class token and share it with the school students.

The school students can consume the token generated by the school teacher under the account section and join the class. Additionally, the school student also has the ability to redeem the class token from the self-registration page as well.

The token generated by school teachers can only be consumed by the school student. Any individual student who already exists in the system will not be able to consume class tokens generated by School Teachers. In this case, the system will show a message to the existing individual student's account - "You are not permitted to join this Class". Please contact your Teacher".

Follow the below steps to generate a Class Enrollment Token:

1. Teacher will log in to the portal.

2. Click "Roster" on the left-hand side menu.

3. Click "'Class" in the sub-menu

You will be redirected to the "Manage Class" screen.

4. Click the "Generate" button under "Class Enrolment Token." 

5. Once the token is generated, you can share it using the "Share" icon.

6.  Enter the email address of the individual user/ individual learner (You can enter comma separated email address of more than one student) and share the token using the pop-up email window. 

Follow the below steps to consume a Class Enrolment Token:

The System allows students to add class enrollment token in two different ways. 

Option 1: Student self-registering for the first time

1. Go to Login Page and click on the "Register here" link.

2. Fill up the registration form and select the Class enrollment token 

3. Enter the class enrollment token shared by the school teacher. 

When a user adds the token, it will be associated with that class. Also, as soon as they get enrolled, students can see all the assignments assigned to that Class.

Option 2- If the student already has an account on the platform. 

1. Log in to the portal.

2. Go to the "Account" section.

3. Enter the "Class Enrolment Token" shared by the teacher and click "Add."

4. School students can add the token generated by the school teacher to be associated with the class. 

Note: 

1. The school teacher should have enough license count to add the users to the class.
2. The individual user will become an individual student once the token is added successfully but an individual student can't become a School student and vice-versa once the token is added and the system will show the message - "You are not permitted to join this Class. Please contact your Teacher.
3. The system will not provide any view where students can remove or modify or view the Class Enrollment Token shared by their teachers once they consume it.
4. Class Enrollment Token will be a unique alpha-numerical 8 characters long string.
5. If an individual user consumes any school-specific ClassToken (shared by School Teacher) then he/she will become a Learner in the School workflow in case he consumes the class token for the first time.
6. A student in the school workflow can consume class tokens associated with different schools within the same district. For Example, School A with Class A and School B with Class B. The system will allow a learner to associate themselves with both the schools via ClassEnrollment Token.
7. A school student cannot be part of 2 different schools in 2 different districts via ClassEnrollment token and the system will show the message "You are not permitted to join this Class. Please contact your Teacher".
