The publisher can set up LTI credentials with district keys. This type of key gives the flexibility to register the user (school admin, student, teacher) in a school within a district on the MagicBox portal.
The School LTI Key can be implemented in MagicBox in two ways.
1. Pre-roster the users: In this approach, the prerequisite is that users must be created on the MagicBox platform and the license must be assigned to the user before registering from the LMS platform.
Follow the below steps to generate the LTI district keys in case of pre-roster:
1. log in as the Publisher.
2. Click "Setting" on the left-hand side menu.
3. Click LTI Setup.
You will see the below screen.
4. Select LTI Inbound.
5. Click "Generate" to create new LTI Keys. You will see the below screen.
6. Select the "District School" radio button to generate District school keys.
Select the district name from the drop-down list.
Select the school name from the drop-down list.
Enter an LTI tool name.
You can copy the Launch URL by clicking on the "Copy URL" button.
Generate consumer & secret key by clicking on the "Generate" button.
Provide the launch URL, generated consumer & secret keys to the LMS admin.
7. Click "Save." You can see the created LTI credentials on the LTI Setup page.
2. Auto-roster the users: In this approach, MagicBox doesn’t require the users to be created on the platform as a prerequisite. This approach allows the user to be created at runtime while registering from the LMS. The selected PO will be auto-assigned to the user along with the selected class at the time of the key generation. This can be managed from the school setting page by enabling the LTI Auto Creation.
The following steps need to be followed by the publisher to generate the LTI keys when the auto rostering feature is being used.
1. Log in to the portal.
2. Click "School" on the left-hand side menu.
3. Click "School List" in the sub-menu.
