Create a New Assignment

Publishers and teachers can create assignments on the MagicBox portal in the following ways:
1. Create an assignment and link it with the content. In this case, once the content is assigned to the teacher, the corresponding assignment will be assigned automatically. Teachers can view the assignment on the Assignment page.
2. Create assignment and do not link with the content. In this case, the publisher will have to bind the assignment in a license and assign the license to the school/district.
Follow the below steps to create a new assignment:
1. Log in to the portal.
2. Click "Assignment" on the left-hand side menu.
You will see the below screen
3. Click " Create New" to add a new assignment.
4. Click "Online Assignment" from the drop-down menu.
You will be redirected to the “Create Assignment” page.
5. Enter the following details on the "Create Assignment " page.
1. Enter the "Assignment Name"
Maximum character limit - 500 characters
The user won’t be able to type more than 500 characters.
Will support special characters, along with accented characters.
2. Enter the "Assignment Description"
Will be provided with the HTML editor to format the description
No maximum character limit.
Will support special characters, along with accented characters.
3. Click "Add File" to Attach File from your system.
The maximum number of files that can be added to an assignment is 5.
The maximum size allowed per file is 50 MB.
"Attach File" supports doc, pdf, Xls, jpeg, png, zip.
4. You can add a score to the assignment. Here, the user will be provided with 2 options:
i) Points: Enter the score of the assignment in points.
ii) Rubrics: The user will get the option to "Add Rubric" or use an existing one for evaluation of the assignment.

5. Enable the "Link to Content" to link the assignment with the content.
When "Link with content" is enabled, the publisher can associate the content with the assignment. Select the content type from the "Content Type" drop-down menu. Then select the content from the "Content List" drop-down menu.
When the selected content is assigned to the teacher, the corresponding assignment will be assigned to the teacher automatically. The teacher can then manually assign the assignment to a class/student/group.
Note: If you do not want to "Link the Content" with the assignment , disable "Link to Content." In this case, the publisher will assign the assignment to the school/district by binding it with the licence.
6. You can add the tags in the assessment by selecting the tag from the drop down menu. Check the "Add Tags" section for more details.
6. Click "Save" to save the assignment.
