Clever Integration with MagicBox

Through the Clever Portal, each student and teacher can access a personalized portal with a single sign-on (SSO) to every learning application they need to use. Clever's APIs automate data integration for developers and simplify the login experience for students and teachers, removing obstacles that hinder the use of technology in the classroom. The Clever integration with MagicBox manages school rostering by syncing real-time district data and also allowing students, teachers, and administrators to sign in to the MagicBox portal without worrying about passwords.

The Clever Integration allows MagicBox to authenticate district users (students, teachers, and administrators) for SSO and securely access school users’ data from their schools’ Student Information Systems (SIS) to manage rostering information. MagicBox uses Clever 3.0 APIs to securely access roster information from school districts.

Below are the 2 key areas covered in the MagicBox-Clever integration.

1. Clever Instant Login allows MagicBox to support Single-Sign On (SSO) for district schools by authenticating school users using each school’s preferred identity provider (IDP).

a. MagicBox authenticates school users via Instant Login through an OAuth 3.0 APIs.

b. School users will log into MagicBox via their preferred entry point, either via

• A Clever-provided portal or

• A District-provided portal

c. There is a “Log in with Clever” button on the MagicBox login screen on the Web, iOS App, Desktop App, Android App and Mac App

2. Clever Secure Sync allows MagicBox to securely access data for authorized district school users from the school’s SIS. Clever provides MagicBox secure access to data via an HTTPS-only REST API as well as access to a stream of updates via an event-based API.
