Create a Course Structure

Once the course has been created on the MagicBox portal, the publisher can present the content in 3 levels of hierarchy. 

Follow the below steps to create the course structure:

1. Log in to the portal.

2. Click "Content" on the left-hand side panel.

3. Click "Create Course" in the sub-menu.

You will see the below "Course Listing Page." This page presents a list of courses created by the user. The user can scroll through the list of courses to view all the courses created by them. The courses will be listed in the order of creation, i.e., the newest created article will be listed on the top. 

4. Click "Create a New Course" on the top right of the dashboard. 

You will be routed to the below page. 

5. "Setup Course" will be selected by default. Click on the Edit icon on the top header to enter the course name. 

  • You can add a course thumbnail, by clicking on "Change Thumbnail." (optional)
  • You can enter the course description in the space provided. 
  • Note: "Add Content" and "Add Metadata" will be disabled until the course is saved.

6. Click "Save" to save the course. 

7. Create a course structure, i.e., Table of Content 

  • Click "+Add Header" to add the placeholders to add the headings.

You can enter the heading name in the "Add Title Here" space provided and thereafter create 2 levels hierarchy under each header.   

8. You can click on the ":"  icon on the header to view the menu and perform the following tasks:

  • Add new TOC: This will add a TOC under "Heading 2"
  • Move Content inside: This will move "Heading 2" as a TOC under "Heading 1"
  • Delete: Click "Delete" to delete "Heading 2"

You will see the below screen, if you click "Add New TOC" in the "Heading 2" menu.

 9. Click "Add Title Here" to add the title of the new TOC.

10. You can click on the ":" icon on the new TOC added under "Heading 2" to view the menu and perform the following tasks:

  • Click "Move Content Outside" to move the TOC and place it as a new header in the hierarchy.
  •  Click "Delete" to delete the newly added TOC from "Heading 2."

Collapse All -  This feature allows you to view only the headers. 

11. Click "Collapse All" to collapse all swimlanes in the TOC. 

12. Click "Expand All" to view all the swimlanes in the TOC.

13. Click "Bulk Operation" to bulk delete content from the course. 

14. Click the "Select All" checkbox to delete all the content in the course or select individual artifacts that you wish to delete.
